Meet Milo -Therapy Dog in Training / Chief Joy Officer / Professional Biscuit Enthusiast
Meet Milo. One year old, full of heart, and completely convinced that his only purpose on this earth is to love you. He is not wrong.
What we know for certain is that the moment he walks into a room, something shifts. the air gets lighter, people smile without knowing why, and somehow, whatever was heavy a moment ago feels just a little more manageable. That is the Milo effect. And it is very, very real.
He is full of expression, absolutely certain that everyone he meets has been waiting their whole life specifically for him - and he is probably right. His favorite things include cuddling at Olympic levels. playing with his littermate Marley, adoring his 15-year-old black lab sister Dixie, and giving the kind of snuggles and kisses to his humans that leaves no questions about how he feels about you. Milo does not discriminate - he loves everybody, people, animals, strangers, regulars alike - because as far as Milo is concerned, the world is simply full of friends he hasn't properly greeted yet, and he meets every single one of them with his whole heart already wide open.
When Milo is not working on his training, he loves vacationing with his family - soaking up lake life, trying his paw at fishing off the dock and approaching every new adventure, every new smell, and every new person along the way with the same boundless enthusiasms he brings to everything else.
But here is the one thing about Milo that goes beyond joy and kisses -he holds space, genuinely, quietly, and with his whole heart. He has a gift for sensing exactly who in the room needs him the most and making his way there without being asked, sitting on you, leaning on you, and if you are very lucky, looking you directly in the eyes and tell you he loves you - because Milo has learned to say, "I Love You", howling it with such pure conviction that it is physically impossible not to laugh and feel completely seen all at once.
He is currently working towards his therapy dog certification with the kind of focus and devotion that has made him an absolute teacher's pet - whatever the trainers ask of him, Milo does it first, enthusiastically, perfectly, and with great personal pride. His trainers adore him, and honestly, we are not surprised
Once he is certified, Milo will begin visiting hospitals, care facilities, and anywhere else his particular brand of healing is needed - because somethings cannot be prescribed, and some hearts can only be reached by a scruffy, expressive, devoted little dog who asks for nothing and gives everything.
We are also exploring ways to offer Milo's presence as a service right here within our community, because the gift of his company should never come with a price tag. Biscuits, however, are always deeply appreciated and gratefully accepted.
